User experience is a concept most of us are familiar with, but when it comes down to it, do we really know what it entails?

User experience, UX: a beloved term with many names, but the essence remains the same.

UX involves the subjective experience a user has with a brand, a website, a product, a service, etc.

This experience can include elements such as emotional impact, behavior, attitude, and satisfaction level.

Irrational elements such as emotional impact can be difficult to measure and understand at first glance.

In this context, principles and tools from neuromarketing are used to better understand user behavior.

The difference between user experience and customer experience

When talking about UX, it’s important to understand the difference between:

  • User experience (UX)
  • Customer experience (CX).

Customer experience (CX) is the umbrella term that covers the entire experience a customer has from start to finish – in other words, what is known as the customer journey.

This refers to the overall experience from the customer’s research process, interaction with customer service, purchase, receipt of product, etc.

User experience (UX), on the other hand, should be seen as just one part of this journey, focusing solely on the interaction with the brand; whether it’s with the product, the website, the service, or something entirely different.

How to improve UX?

First and foremost, it is necessary to understand users’ needs.

The definition of a good user experience is being able to meet users’ needs as effectively as possible.

To gain insight into the needs that your product, service, or website should address, it is necessary to collect data.

This can include surveys, interviews, ongoing tests, etc.

The information gathered from this research phase is invaluable and should put you in an advantageous position to create the best UX that meets users’ needs.

What does a positive UX entail?

To create a positive user experience, there are several elements that can be advantageously implemented.

If it’s about e-commerce, the experience of your website should be the focus of your optimization work.

Some of the key elements to follow up on within UX of a website include:

  • Does your website have a responsive design?
  • Is your website easy and quick to navigate?
  • Is the user aware of the desired action to be taken? (Clear Call To Action)

What are the benefits of a positive UX?

A positive user experience equals satisfied users.

If the user experience is optimized to meet users’ needs, it will contribute to a favorable perception of your brand and can ultimately ensure an improved conversion rate, positive reviews, and loyal customers.
